Recruitment
A small and successful printing business, John the MD, was really struggling to know how to recruit for a specialist and critical role to replace the individual who was leaving causing a lot of worry and stress. After a couple of bottle neck buster sessions we were able to give John a clear strategy with options, some practical tools and an action plan whilst saving him a fortune in not having to go through a recruitment agency. The brucey bonus was when we explored further and challenged John to think outside of the box he actually had the actual solution in one of his current contractors.
Engagement & Managing Change
A medium-sized agricultural laboratory testing business was going through an extensive merger and acquisition process. It had come from a small privately family-run business to a medium-sized corporation. The challenges this cultural change presented was where managers were used to being told what to do for over 20 years to now having to become more “corporate” and take on full ownership for their site and teams. Even with the best intentions, the changes left some of the managers feeling very isolated and undervalued which created a negative undertone. We designed and ran a business management programme to upskill the manager’s competencies such as “Courageous Conversations” and “Creating Trust & Morale” but most importantly we brought them all together for a days face to face-to-face training and wow what a difference that made. They quickly could see they were not alone in how they felt, started to create new bonds and working relationships across the whole business and left away feeling more confident in tackling some of the challenges they just didn’t know how to manage. By the time they had completed the 6 month programme, there was a renewed enthusiasm for the business and a definitive improvement in morale and engagement.

Marketing
A successful yet young business in designing and building exhibition spaces were struggling to know how to develop and grow the business. Their challenge was having the confidence and knowledge of how to do this. So we supported them using the retained service and within 6 months they had stopped chasing the small, time consuming and not hugely profitable clients and refocused their energy on the “cup cake” clients. This resulted in adding £200k in sales.
Profit
As part of the retained service for the design and build exhibition business, we discovered that they were missing financial opportunities. They had some good financial processes in place and understood some of the basics. However they were not leveraging their healthy financial position or maximising their profit margins. By exploring and educating them on this business pillar, they had a very clear understanding of how to use financial data to enhance making great business decisions and have the right financial experts to support them. They tripled their profit within 6 months.
